Is it impossible to access data from this site? I'm looking for data from the second half of last year and the first of this year. I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me what's gone wrong. Eiscat Svalbard In-Reply-To: Message-ID: Hi, I saw that John did answer you; but an additional info: if you have still problems, the French data center CDPP (http://cdpp.cesr.fr) hosts also EISCAT data, and have data from 2001 (ESR and a few Tromso) and 2002 until May. The CDPP visit is free and you can see avalable data as quiclooks, but you have to register if you want to retreive data (binary NCAR format see documentation): this will not take more than a few hours as I cc: this message to the CDPP System Administrator who is therefore aware of your possible application. Since the Tromso site is still restricted, I've redirected those links to the SRI installation for the time being. (http://www.haystack.mit.edu/madrigal/Models/) These includes (1) our empirical electric field models developed by John Holt and John Foster, (2) our ionospheric electron density and temperature models (basically for the F2 layer) that John Holt and I are working on, (3) Larisa's lower thermospheric temperature model and (4) my simplified first-principles model. These latter three were put on web in winter 2001. Now the electron density and temperature models, have been updated, as a result of adding some new data and removing suspect data, and in particular, we are now using fully analytical local and regional models. I have also included some JPEG movies files. In addtion to Millstone's major mission of producing good data of the ionosphere, we hope these models to give reasonable averaging over the data and represent a good climatology description of the ionosphere over Millstone.
