The newest release of Madrigal (Madrigal 2.5) is now available on the <a
href="http://www.openmadrigal.org/">OpenMadrigal</a> web site.
Madrigal 2.5 has been running at <a
href="http://madrigal.haystack.mit.edu/madrigal/">Millstone</a> and <a
href="http://eiscathq.eiscat.se/madrigal/">Eiscat</a> since September
2008. <br>
<br>
Madrigal 2.5 contains a number of improvements to the UI, and also a
large number of improvements that make Madrigal easier to install,
upgrade, and administer. The upgrade procedure now allows an
administrator to install a test version first, and switch it over to be
the active version later. Installing for the first time is easier
because all code is built using the standard autotools method
(configure, make, make install). Also, all shared metadata files now
update automatically.<br>
<br>
See <a href="http://madrigal.haystack.mit.edu/madrigal/whatsNew.html">What's
new</a> for a complete list of new features. See the <a
href="http://madrigal.haystack.mit.edu/madrigal/ad_upgrade.html">upgrade
link</a> for step-by-step directions to upgrade your server to Madrigal
2.5. Please email or call me with any problems or concerns.<br>
