From brideout at haystack.mit.edu Tue Jan 3 15:24:30 2012 From: brideout at haystack.mit.edu (Bill Rideout) Date: Tue, 3 Jan 2012 15:24:30 -0500 Subject: [Openmadrigal-admin] Madrigal 2.6 released on Jan 3, 2012 Message-ID: Madrigal 2.6 was released on Jan. 3, 2012. Version 2.6 includes a new simple local interface and the ability to download HDF5 files, and was developed jointly with Jicamarca. It has been running for at least a month at Millstone and Jicamarca, and has been tested extensively with data sets imported from SRI, Eiscat, and Arecibo. It has been tested on linux and mac platforms. On solaris I had difficulty installing the base HDF5 library (1.8.7) and so I have not tested this release on solaris. This base HDF5 library is installed automatically as part of the Madrigal install - you don't need to worry about it. To download and learn more, go to openmadrigal.org and go to Download/ update Madrigal. You can try Madrigal 2.6 at the Millstone site. You can also try the Jicamarca site, but their site contains a number of Jicamarca-specific features in the simple UI that will not appear at other sites. I'll will be on vacation Jan 5th and 6th, but outside of those two days, you can reach me for any assistance at brideout at haystack.mit.edu or at 781 981-5624. -Bill Rideout
